Pharmaceutical executive with more than 30 years of experience spanning industry leadership, quality systems, and organizational development. As Chairman & General Manager of Mephico S.A.L., Lebanon’s first national pharmaceutical manufacturer, I oversee the company’s strategic direction, modernization initiatives, and expansion of its product portfolio. Under my leadership, Mephico continues to strengthen its reputation for excellence in GMP compliance, product quality, and contribution to national healthcare resilience.
Previously, I spent 15 years as a management and organizational consultant, advising more than 150 companies across Europe, the Middle East, Africa in diverse sectors including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, telecom, and industrial manufacturing on ISO standards, risk management, and performance optimization, while developing expertise in leading multicultural teams and managing complex change.
My academic foundation combines a Pharm.D. with a specialization in Industrial Pharmacy and a Diploma of Specialized Studies in Quality Assurance (Paris V). I also hold an MBA in Finance & Accounting (LAU) and pursued professional training in Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (Saint Joseph University, Beirut), equipping me with both the technical and interpersonal skills to lead organizations through transformation and growth.
I remain passionate about advancing pharmaceutical innovation, ensuring access to high-quality medicines, and fostering collaboration across industries and cultures to strengthen healthcare systems.

Serum and Solutions S.A.L. is a producer of Large Volume Parenterals (LVP) solutions, meeting the following quality requirements:
Located in Lebanon, Baalbek, Sarhine , Dr Mohamad Abdallah street – P.O box # 3 .On a clean spot of 30,000 square meters away enough from any eventual pollution. The plant is also designed as a green plant reliable on a solar energy in order to promote a sustainable development.

Founded in 2009 by Mr. Abdul Razzaq Yousef as founder and Dr. Ruwayda Dham as co-founder, ARWAN Pharmaceutical Industries Lebanon s.a.l. is a joint stock company owned by a group of Lebanese and non Lebanese highly committed professionals. MEPHICO S.A.L. – Middle East Pharmaceutical & Industrial Company – the first national pharmaceutical manufacturing company was established in 1956 by a group of prominent pharmacists.
In 1962 it moved from Beirut to its newly built high production capacity plant in Jamhour.

He is also a board member and managing partner in several regional medical trading companies, including Solupharm s.a.l (Lebanon) and Verdalia Trading Ltd (Cyprus). Since 2016, he has served as Board Member and Treasurer of the Syndicate of Pharmaceutical Industries in Lebanon, re-elected for multiple terms.

Dr. Bertha Abou Zeid: Dr. in Pharmacy with over 30 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs
(RA) Pharmacovigilance and Quality. She currently serves as the Quality Unit and Regulatory
Affairs Director at Benta Group, a leading pharmaceutical company, where she plays a pivotal
role in ensuring compliance with international regulations and promoting the safety and quality
of pharmaceutical products across global markets.
Throughout her distinguished career, Dr. Abou Zeid has demonstrated a steadfast commitment
to advancing healthcare standards and regulatory excellence. Her extensive knowledge and
strategic leadership have significantly contributed to the growth and credibility of the
pharmaceutical industry in the region.
Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Dr. Abou Zeid is actively involved in shaping the future of
the pharmaceutical sector through influential leadership roles. She is the Vice President of the
Syndicate of Lebanese Pharmaceutical Industries and the President of the Syndicate of Vitamins
and Food Supplements. In these capacities, she champions public health initiatives, supports
industry innovation, and advocates for robust regulatory frameworks.

President
Dr. Abi Karam began her career at Malia Group as a Regulatory Affairs Manager. Prior to assuming her current position as the General Manager of the Company, she oversaw the industry’s functions: product development, manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain business development, promotion, marketing, local and export sales.
During her tenure as General Manager, Dr. Abi Karam was exposed to both manufacturing activities and the corporate environment. She led Pharmaline’s significant regional development, while enhancing and consolidating its position as a leading manufacturing company in the Lebanese market, together with the company’s attainment of the EcoVadis Bronze badge and the European Good Manufacturing Practices (EU GMP) certification. She secured a large portfolio, closed license agreements and distribution deals with leading multinationals, and developed and retained a professional, motivated team.
Guided by Malia Group governance and engagement principles, she actively contributes to engaging Pharmaline in performance improvement on Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) matters and incorporates ESG issues into the company’s policies and practices, demonstrating the company’s commitment to functioning sustainably.
She is a founding member and the incumbent President of the Syndicate of Pharmaceutical Industries in Lebanon (SPIL) established in 2016. She led the industry sector, developed and promoted its capabilities, quality, and advocacy for its role as a major pillar in both Health and the Economic Sector. She actively contributed to the development of laws and strategies regulating Health and Industry.
She is also a Board Member of the Arab Union of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers.
Dr. Abi Karam holds a Doctorate in Pharmacy from the Saint Joseph University in Lebanon.
